My Keys, My Keys

My keys, my keys
Behind the wicked glass
Locked inside my car
It happened all too fast
With mail in my mouth
And both arms full
An overly-filled mind
Doth take their toll
So now I stare
With lusty gaze
At the shining things
That have ruined my day
Hanging there in
Mockish taunt
Conspiring with the locks
It's all a plot
Then I go
From door to door
To find a wire hanger
Oh, what a bore
Straightening the wire
In unrelenting heat
To a right angle
With hook complete
Only then remembering
With insane glee
Safety locks!
Can't lift them free
Finally with briefcase
I smash the barrier
In the backseat
One frightened terrier
And only now with
One hour clocked
I notice, backdoor, right
It is unlocked.
